Prospective Honorary Offices first need to successfully complete a course in Field Guiding, recognised by the Field Guide Association of South Africa (FGASA) before they can apply to become an Honorary Officer with the North West Parks and Tourism Board.
There are 2 service providers that are currently recognised by the HO organisation:
Bushveld Mosaic www.bushveld-mosaic.org.za
Bushveld Training Adventures www.bushveldta.co.za
Only applications from candidates that completed the FGASA level 1 course through one of the above training organisations will be considered as a prospective HO.
After completion of the course, one must apply to the HO organisation by emailing the completed application form, together with a copy of your results, your first aid training certificate and a short CV to info@ho.org.za.
Applicants will be informed of an interview date, usually done over a weekend at the start of the calendar year, during which they will be interviewed by the HO committee as well as members of the NWP&TB. The committee will inform applicants if they were accepted into the HO organisation.
