The Honorary Officers of the North West Parks and Tourism Board is a non-profit organisation and officers perform voluntary duties in North West Parks over weekends and busy periods.
The primary objective of the Honorary Officer Association is to support the North West Parks and Tourism Board in its conservation efforts by providing Officers to operate under their jurisdiction in their Parks and Game Reserves.
Currently, the Association’s members perform duties over weekends at Pilanesberg and Borakalalo National Parks, Kgaswane Mountain Reserve as well as specialist duties at Madikwe Game Reserve, Barberspan, Mafikeng and Botsalano Reserves when needed.
The Honorary Officers assist in conservation in the North West Province by performing the following voluntary duties in North West Parks:
* Visitor Management
* Very Important Species Monitoring (VIS)
* Extended patrols
* Counter Poaching Unit
