Sunday morning we all set off to the shooting range where the kids were to get a opportunity to shoot. Balloon’s were blown up and the name of an animal was placed inside each balloon. Each child was to shoot at least one balloon and so get the name of an animal. The kids were to find out all they could about the animal to play charades / guessing games with the adults that night. With the help of Selwyn and Wade, kids were also given an opportunity to shoot with a R1 and a R5. But back to the balloons, although the wind was blowing every child hit their balloon with their first round of .22 (I think that we should be using balloons for our 30-20-10!). Once again showing the adults a thing or two.

The APU then conducted a Fire and Movement exercise. While most of the APU chased poachers, Trevor was shooting buffalo! For those of us who were there – Trevor, we know what you were doing! The kids were explained the importance of the APU and the work that they do. I think most of them were quite taken aback.
