By this time most of the adults are fading fast, but tom is still teaching the kids.
Fun was had by all when Tom then showed them how to make fire, the bushman way. He also showed the kids how to make a bow and arrow using the Karee tree. Each child then had to make their own, functional, bow and arrow. I must admit, for children who had never done this before, they were very good - even though it took Jordan several attempts, as he never caught on to how long to leave the bow in the fire and subsequently ensured the fire burnt longer!
A note in Jordan’s defense – he spent a lot of time helping others cut their bows off the trees and that’s why he missed the "how to roast you bow" lesson. Special thanks to all the older boys who went out of their way to help the girls and the younger boys cut their bows and arrows from the trees. After this, it was back to camp for all to indulge in a nice hot shower in the new showers at the HO camp.
now make sure you all have enough ingredients, due to its fineness Zebra dung was used as a starter
